All prices are shown in US dollars. Prices are a guide, and may vary depending on your requirements. Intro music prices are based on approx. 20-30 second opening music and slightly shorter closing music.

A "total package" includes opening and closing music, plus several bumpers/sound stings to place in between show segments.

"Premade" music is music that has already been written and recorded. We have a number of premade pieces in a variety of styles. This is the equivalent of approaching a record company and asking for permission to use one of their songs. You have less creative control, but it comes at a lower price. Just ask about what we have. As with a record company, other people will be able to use the same music, unless you make it an "Exclusive Package" (see below).

"Customized" music is music that I will make in consultation with you, depending on what kind of music you're after. You give me the idea, I get started, check with you to make sure I'm on the right track, and before you know it, you have original customized music. The music then becomes a "premade" piece at podcastermusic.org, unless you choose an exclusive package.

An "Exclusive" package means that you will have exclusive use of the music for your podcast. I will not make the music available to any other podcaster to use. I retain the copyright, and you may not use the music for other projects. This is what happens, for example, when the makers of a TV show buy music from a recording artist or studio - the makers of the TV show can't use that music for their other projects. The annual fee secures this exclusive right.

Podcaster Music Packages

OK, you need music. So let's start tallying up the bill: you'll need the equipment to record the music, or perhaps hire a recording studio and somebody to mix and record everything. Check. Now, if you haven't composed the music yourself, you'll need a writer. Check. OK, what next? Musicians. You'll need either a few for a short time, or maybe just one for a longer time, who will play all the parts for you.

Oh, and you'll need a couple of grand to cover all that.... OR, for a tiny fraction of that cost, check out our packages. Notice the difference?

There are a few things to include when requesting music:

• What style of music are you looking for?
• Are there any special sounds that need to be included?
• Will you be doing a voiceover at the beginning, middle, or end of the music, or not at all? Would you like a voiceover done for you?
• Do you just want a musical intro, or do you want a whole themed package: intro, sound stings in the middle and outro music as well?
• Do you want something that will be uniquely yours forever, or do you just want temporary exclusive rights?
• Are you getting the music for a commercial enterprise, or for a personal podcast/show?
